It's crazy to think that in 2009 a relationship could be discounted due to the gender of the two partners. Law reform is well overdue. I chose to use the human heart as my starting point. The way the aorta and the superior vena cava branch out created the potential to express the intertwining of the two hearts. I also played on the concept of a relationship as something that grows, blossoms and bears fruit. This tied in well visually, with the branching of the circulatory system. The love heart apples were indulgent and fun.
