wear it with pride

T-Shirt 30/85 (Workplace) by Luca Ionescu

I was briefed on reforms to workplace rights and knew that my T-shirt was going to be yellow. I wanted to use the yellow in the t-shirt to tie in with the theme. Then I thought of construction sites and the yellow vests as well as the yellow and black tape on construction sites and road works, so it felt like the right angle. I thought it would be a nice spin on the theme to have the words made out of cable and jackhammers - the two jackhammers being symbolic of a same-sex couple. They loop together to make the number 30, which is also about everyone working together. The rest I had a bit of fun with. I wanted to capture the jackhammers going off mid-flight at a construction site. All the tools and gear flying around. I think the graphic is effective in engaging the viewer and making them think of workers / workplace.
