wear it with pride

Equal rights that enable us to enjoy our lives and relationships with the same choices and autonomy. That's why I wear it with pride.

Why have you chosen to represent this same-sex law reform campaign?

I’ve chosen to represent this campaign to help get the word out there to the community about the changes that have been made to same-sex laws, and to help those that may not be aware become more informed about how this effects us.

What sorts of same-sex discrimination have you as / anyone you know experienced?

I experienced harassment in the work place a few years ago where I felt I was being treated differently to others based on my sexuality.

How do you think these reforms will make a difference to your life, or to the lives of those close to you?

Hopefully they will encourage us to not hide who we are and allow us to live more openly and honestly in the wider community.

Why do you think people should wear these 85 law reforms with pride?

Because it shows that we know as a community know what changes have been made. That those changes impact us positively, and that we are willing to fight for our full equal rights in the future.

Why do you think this is a huge step forward for Australia?

It’s a huge step forward, because we have not been heard or acknowledged by our government and for the first time there is that recognition that we are here, and deserve the same rights that enable us to enjoy our lives and relationships with the same choices and autonomy as everyone else.
